I’ve been trained to help with a wide range of health issues and have successfully supported many different challenges. The list of conditions I can treat is extensive and not exhaustive. This is because I assesses what is presenting in the form of signs and symptoms for you and treat based on these imbalance indicators as they tell the story of what needs attention. The western named diseases attached to those signs and symptoms can be helpful but are not as important as what your body, mind or emotions are showing me.

When you come to me for care, my goal is to understand how your system is currently functioning and guide it back to its natural balance. My approach involves a thorough assessment that includes checking your pulse, examining your tongue, taking your medical history, and using other diagnostic tools. This helps me see how your unique constitution and life experiences interact with the symptoms you're experiencing.

For example, if you come in with a red rash, that redness signals heat in your system. Based on what else I observe, I might decide to vent, drain, nourish, or cool your system. If the rash isn’t clearing up, there could be underlying factors at play—like not having enough nutrition over the years, which might have weakened your body’s ability to heal. In that case, lifestyle changes, dietary adjustments, and Chinese herbs could be part of your treatment plan, along with regular acupuncture. On the other hand, someone with good daily nutrition might get a similar rash, but it could clear up quickly with just a session or two of acupuncture because their body has the resources to address it.

Every person is a unique and dynamic ecosystem—like a garden. Two people with the same issue might need very different treatments based on what else is happening in their “garden.” Chinese Medicine focuses on treating you as a whole person, considering how your body responds to what’s happening. Whether it’s heat or cold, dryness or dampness, deficiency or excess, these signs interact with your constitution, habits, and life experiences. Together, they create the unique you, and that’s what we focus on in our sessions.

When you come in for treatment, I’ll not only address the specific issue you’re experiencing but also look at how it’s connected to the bigger picture of your health. Often, things that seem unrelated can play a significant role in your overall well-being.

This is what I mean by treating the whole you!
